Ah, Friday. Mom’s one day off when no one had a practice, meeting, lesson, or game…

Full House "How rude!"

The family watches TV

Family Matters "Did I do that?"

Hahahaha

Dinosaurs "Not the mama!"Hahahahahahaha

Hey... where's Nicki?"

Uh-oh

  1. love, love this one, Texture on the couch was brilliant.

    1. Thank you! It’s really nothing without the tiny details :)

  2. I want to get famous just so I can get you famous (well, maybe I have a few selfish reasons in there too, but seriously, you should be famous).

    1. Agreed. This one may be my favorite post. I know I say that every time, but…

    2. Okay, you guys get famous first and then bring me along after you know all the other famous people. I’m shy, so that will be a big help.

I’ve never seen the essence of Urkel captured in construction paper. You even got the suspenders pull. BRAVO

  4. LOVE this one! Even the almost forgotten Dinosaurs!!! :)

  5. Fan-freakin-tastic!

  6. You’re too good, just too, too good. What an amazing talent you have, themiddlestsister. One day, these will be in greeting card racks all over the world. I will buy them all : )

My favorite part had to be the Littleton Pop Warner cheerleader uniform! Stripes on the shoes and everything! Love it! =)

    1. Thank you, thank you :) I won’t have anyone saying this representation of my childhood is anything less than perfectly accurate! (I was hoping someone would recognize that uniform!)

      1. Did this happen just that one time, or multiple times, with multiple activities? If it was multiple times, I think it’s awesome the way you chose cheerleading as the activity to chronicle in this strip, because of the “Saddest Cheerleader” oxymoron you described (I saw it by dragging the mouse over the panel–nice touch there). Anyway, if you’d collaged a story about getting left behind at piano lessons or Brownies or something, then it’d still be funny, but the fact that it was cheerleading makes it hilarious. :)

  9. I hate myself for still being able to sing the TGIF theme song.

  10. This is AMAZING. I feel impressed and envious and low-achieving all at once.

I love the TV show lines. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

    1. Thank you! I’m unemployed with an art degree. I have to do something to convince myself I picked the right major, haha.

      1. Unemployed? Gee, Nicole…….I think The Middlest Sister is a very noble profession. Look at how many followers you have, waiting impatiently by our computers to be amused, enlightened, and taken on a virtual journey back to our collective youth.

  11. I love this! Great comic, and you have an amazing, really original style. I’ll be back! :)

    1. Thank you, I really appreciate it!

This blog is AMAZING! So creative and original. Glad I found it. :)

  13. Hilarious! I remember getting left at high school one time. I think getting forgotten is something everyone with siblings experiences at least once – especially the middle and younger kids!

Have you thought about looking into selling prints of some of these?

  18. love this! bought back so many memories! lol

  19. STORY OF MY LIFE! As the 3rd of 7 kids, I was forgotten many times, and only remembered because it was my “day to wash dishes”.

  20. I just found your blog…A.MAZ.ING.! i love your artwork. This post was hilarious. i know exactly what shows you are referring to. I was the youngest, but was forgotten by my brother a few times since he was 6years older than me….once he started driving he had to pick me up from school.

Being the middle child myself, I have been left at school after a sports practice or something or other, only for my mum to turn up an hour later saying she thought I was in my bedroom haha

Great post, and love your blog!
